In an existing course, look at the sidebar for the “Stories” section. There are 3 options to create a new story in your course.
This creates a blank story. You’ll be navigated to the Storyboard. You can change the story’s title in the story settings by clicking “Settings” on the sidebar.
To create a new block, right-click anywhere in the dot-patterned Storyboard background and click “New block”.

Remember to always set a starting block! You can set a starting block by connecting the “Start” flag to a block.
If you don’t have a starting block, your story can never start.

If you have exported a story from the Storyboard before, you’d have a ZIP file that represents your story. You can use this option to import your story as a new story.
If you’re instead looking to import the story into an existing story, see Exporting & importing your stories.
Coauthor is a feature that allows you to create contents from existing materials, powered by AI. Currently, Coauthor has a limit of 10,000 words across all uploaded files, and only supports Microsoft PowerPoint presentations in PPTX format, Microsoft Word documents in DOCX format, and PDFs.
<aside> 💡
Microsoft Word documents and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations formatted in DOC or PPT are created by legacy, unsupported versions of Microsoft Office, e.g., versions 97–2003. To convert them to the current formats, i.e., ending in X, follow the instructions here.

Since there is a limit of 10,000 words, you may specify the ranges for Coauthor generation with the range selector. Know that nothing is ever uploaded to anywhere until you click “Generate”. The words counting and documents trimming happens offline, locally in your browser. Only trimmed contents are ever uploaded to Cikgo servers.
You can specify the ranges of contents you upload to Coauthor.
Once you begin a Coauthor generation, it is queued in the background and you can resume your work in Cikgo elsewhere, or begin another Coauthor generation.
You can monitor the progress of all Coauthor generations in your course in the Coauthor generations panel on the bottom-right corner of the course page. To dismiss an entry, click on its “Go to Story” link.

By default, Coauthor will generate a linear story, without any branches. It may also use some images in your uploaded files if those images are parseable. This means that PDFs without any texts, e.g., scanned books, may not result in a good Coauthor generation. For these PDFs, consider OCRing your PDFs before uploading it to Coauthor. Your preferred PDF reader may already have this functionality, e.g., Adobe Acrobat.
